Our Services
At Hope House, we understand that a large community, such as Cape Town, has many needs.
Thus, we want to make sure we cater to those needs as much as we can. Here we expand on our services offered.
Feel free to contact us to find out more!
Hope House has 4 counselling centres across Cape Town:
-
Tokai
-
Kuils River
-
Table View
-
Khayelitsha
Our counselling is DONATION BASED. This means that with each session you can donate whatever it is that you can afford. It is worth mentioning that YOUR donations keep our centres open, so thank you!
Who do we counsel?
We counsel all ages, with the youngest age being 3 y/o. Our centres have volunteering lay counsellors who use the “person-centered approach” in counselling. It is important to note that at our centres we do not assess or diagnose clients, we merely provide guidance, support and a safe space.
How does it work?
- You must contact the centre closest to you
- 18+ years must make their own appointments
- Parents/Guardians must accompany their children
- We contract for 6-8 sessions (1 session per week of 45min. each)
- We have a strict cancellation policy due to our extensive waiting lists

COMMUNITY BASED TREATMENT PROGRAMME:
We run a 12-week Substance Intervention Programme which is a Community Based Treatment Programme for under 18s who seem vulnerable or have already dabbled in substances.
Small groups, identified by school staff, are counselled and educated by trained social workers on the dangers of substance use and abuse as well as speak about their problems and challenges. The outcome of this programme is to help learners understand themselves and the reality of substances better. Regardless of the stage of substance inclination, we educate and intervene by teaching them healthier coping skills, how to withstand pressure, guide them to better choices, and work towards abstinence.
OTHER:
We also offer workshops for learners relevant to their current issues such as – Anxiety, Stress, Peer Pressure, Emotional regulation, Bullying, etc.
