July 2018
This course develops a counsellor’s skills in counselling around grief and loss. The course equips a counsellor to guide a client through the stages of grief, help them deal with the pain of the past and to offer methods of dealing with difficult experiences and memories.

This course for lay counsellors is an introduction to the basic skills used by counsellors, from developing rapport to listening skills. The course includes opportunities to get practical, where even absolute beginners can grow and learn to counsel.

September 2018
This course for lay counsellors is an introduction to the complexity, formation and understanding of a person’s sense of self i.e. their identity.
Dates: 4 September; 6:45pm-9pm
They say, “Depression is the common cold of mental illness”. This course explores the causes of and methods of coping with depression. It is aimed at lay counsellors to be trained how to counsel people with depression and anxiety.
Dates: Tuesday 11, 18 & 25 September; 6:45pm-9pm.

In this course lay counsellors are trained in couple and marriage counselling skills. We explore the complexity of counselling two clients at one time, ethics around couples and marriage counselling and give practical tools to aid in counselling couples. The workshop will cover 2 different types of relationships. Firstly, romantic relationship both in and outside marriage. Secondly, the dynamics of the family system and the different relationships within the family system.
